Do your own service on your district heating plant

District heating is a safe and reliable source of heat that you don't need to think about too much. However, we still recommend that you check your system from time to time.

Here are some good tips:

  • Check the pressure gauge in the district heating plant to make sure you have the right pressure in the system. It should be approximately 0,8-1,2 bar. If the pressure is below 0,6 bar, you need to top up the system with water. If you need to top up water frequently, it may indicate that you have a leak.
  • If you have uneven heat in your house, it may be time to bleed the radiators. If the house has several floors, it is a good idea to start at the top.
  • If the temperature of the hot water varies a lot, it may be the hot water valve that is sticking. You can exercise the valve by turning the knob back and forth while flushing hot water.
  • Look carefully around pipe connections and joints inside and outside the central unit to check that you do not have any leaks.

In our district heating films you will get more tips and advice on what you can do to have comfortable heating.
Good luck with the review!
