Sävehofdagen was a hit in Partille Arena

It was a packed and eventful Friday in Partille Arena when Sävehofdagen was arranged in connection with the double matches against Ystad. Together with Partille Energi and other partners invited IK Sävehof to a day filled with activities, exciting handball and a wonderful community.

With over 3 spectators in attendance, the evening was a real handball party. On the field, Sävehof's women's team impressed with a big victory, while the men's team played a thrilling match that ended in a draw.

The celebration started in the afternoon with a series of activities for young and old. Children could try speed shooting, jump on trampolines, try out rugby and participate in fish pond and ball activities. A popular highlight was bringing their teddy bear to the arena to become a “blood donor”, an initiative in collaboration with GeBlod to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation.

For those who were more competitive, there was a chance to win prizes such as a rental car for a day, a romantic dinner or an activity day at Teamtastic. In addition, coffee and food were offered at reasonable prices, with the proceeds going to Sävehof's youth activities.

The first match of the evening saw Sävehof's women's team take an impressive victory against Ystads IF by a whopping 34 – 19. The home team set the pace from the start and quickly took a 5 – 1 lead. With a reassuring 15 – 8 lead at halftime, they were then able to control the second half and increase the gap further. Matilda Forsberg was the match's top scorer with six goals, while Nova Huselius made her debut in the Handball League and got to play together with her sister Stella.

In the men's match, things got much more even when Sävehof faced Ystad in a repeat of last year's SM final. The home team started strongly and had an early lead of 7–3, but Ystad fought back and took the lead at halftime, 19 – 18. The second half offered a swinging match where Sävehof finally managed to equalize to 34 – 34 through team captain Sebastian Spante in the final seconds.

Memorable experience

Sävehofdagen was a memorable experience for everyone who was there and showed that handball is more than just a sport – it is a community. Together with Partille Energi and other partners, the club continues its initiative "We stand up" to promote physical and mental health among children and young people.
