Current outages

Below you can see information about current outages. In the event of unplanned major outages, we will update the page as soon as possible. Information about planned outages will be posted when the outage starts.

When we plan an outage, we try to adjust the time so that the outage causes as little disruption as possible, but sometimes it can still come at an inconvenient time. For safety reasons, we want to avoid working with planned outages in the evenings and nights.

To report an outage or malfunction of the electricity grid or district heating, after office hours, call 031-336 96 70.

There may be various reasons why you have experienced a power outage. The reason could be that there has been an outage in our electricity grid or perhaps a fuse has blown in your home.
To investigate this, you must always check your own system first. The easiest way is to check with your neighbor. If your neighbor also has no power, the fault is probably in the power grid and we need to know this and you can contact Customer Service.
If your neighbor has power, you should start checking your own property to see if the fault may lie there.

  • Check to see if your ground fault circuit interrupter has tripped. If it has, try turning it on.
  • Unscrew or switch off the fuses in your electrical panel.
  • Screw in or switch on the fuses one by one until the earth leakage circuit breaker trips again.
  • Unscrew or switch off the fuse that caused the circuit breaker to trip.
  • Check the devices connected to the group that caused the trip.
  • If you cannot find the fault yourself, contact an installer.

Always check the fuses in your electrical panel first. If the symbols L1, L2, L3 are missing, it could be due to two things.

  • One of your meter fuses is blown.
  • You have no power to your facility.

If nothing is visible on the meter fuses – turn off the main switch and swap the fuses. Turn on the main switch again and check if the fault has moved. Then other parts of the house have probably lost power.

If the fault moves, one of the fuses is blown. Replace the blown fuse and you should have power back.

If you are a property owner with tenants, it may be good to know that you have a responsibility to pass on information about outages to them. Below are ready-made forms that you are welcome to print and use.

In the event of a power outage, you may be entitled to compensation and damages. Read more on the page about Consumer law.

In the event of a planned outage, it is a good idea to turn off or unplug fragile electronics and appliances. Washing machines and dishwashers should also be turned off. If the power outage lasts more than three hours, it may also be a good idea to fill pots and empty bottles with water.

Food in the refrigerator stays cold for about 4 hours if you don't open the door unnecessarily. If it's winter and cold, one option is to store refrigerated and frozen goods outdoors. Food in the freezer stays cold for at least 24 hours if you don't open the door unnecessarily. A well-insulated and well-stocked freezer keeps food frozen for up to 48 hours.

Power and heating outages can occur and last for a long time. During the winter months, when it is cold and dark in Sweden, it can be extra difficult. Do you have what you need to cope with a longer power outage in your home? How do you keep warm? How do you get water? And how do you cook?

The Swedish Energy Agency provides tips and advice on what you can do to prevent and alleviate the consequences of a prolonged power outage. Read more here.
