The use of electricity in society is changing rapidly. More people are charging electric cars, installing solar panels and using more electricity at the same time. To use the electricity grid more efficiently, we are changing the Partille Energi the model for the power fee in our electricity grid tariffs on September 1, 2026.
Partille Energi has had an efficiency fee for most customers since 2014. What is changing now is how we calculate the fee.
Partille Energi has had an efficiency fee in its electricity network tariffs since 2014. The exception is apartment customers, who will continue to have no efficiency fee even after September 1, 2026. For other customers, the efficiency fee is already part of the electricity network tariff.
We have a pricing model with relatively low fixed fees combined with variable components such as transmission fees and power charges. This allows customers to influence their costs to a greater extent through how and when electricity is used.
The purpose of the model is to use the electricity grid smarter and more efficiently, so that the capacity is sufficient for more people - without us having to expand the grid unnecessarily.
In the independent Nils Holgersson survey, Partille Energi recurring among the electricity network companies in Sweden with the lowest fees. The power fee does not mean that our customers pay more than customers in other electricity networks.
However, costs can be distributed differently between customers, depending on how and when they use electricity. Those who use a lot of electricity at once when the grid is heavily loaded may have a higher cost, while those who use the grid more evenly over time may have a lower cost.
Partille Energi changes our electricity grid tariffs and the model for the power fee from September 1, 2026.

The problem is not how much electricity we use in total – but when many people use a lot at the same time. When the load becomes high for short periods, it creates a kind of queue in the electricity grid.
To cope with those peaks, the electricity grid would need to be expanded significantly, which would be expensive for all customers. In making this change, we have taken into account feedback from customers who have found the current model difficult to influence.
The new model will make it easier for those who want to control their electricity use over time. When electricity use is spread out more evenly, the existing electricity grid can be used more efficiently.
We have had an energy fee in all our tariffs except for apartment customers since 2014. Apartment customers in apartment buildings are also exempt from the energy fee after September 1.
The difference from September 1, 2026 is that:
For many of our customers, the change may mean lower electricity grid costs than before.
An important idea behind the new model is that you should be able to influence your bill more yourself. By spreading out your electricity usage and avoiding using many electricity-intensive things at the same time during times when the load on the electricity grid is at its highest, 07 a.m. - 21 p.m., you can keep your power output and thus your cost down.
So it's not about using less electricity. It's about using it smarter. We measure how much electricity you use every quarter. The quarter measurements are then added together to give hourly values.
Each month, we take the three hours during peak hours when you used the most electricity. The hours should be from three different days. The average of these three hourly values forms the basis for your power fee.
Consider the time during daylight saving time
The calculation is always based on Swedish standard time, i.e. winter time. When it is summer time, you therefore need to subtract one hour from the time shown on the clock:
Therefore, remember to recalculate the times when you check your electricity usage during daylight saving time.
1. Avoid running everything at once
When several large electrical appliances are running at the same time, the power can easily get lost. Try running the washing machine, dryer, stove and electric car one after the other instead.
2. Move what can wait until the evening
Not everything needs to be done right away. For example, charging the car or doing the laundry later in the evening can make a big difference to your tops.
3. Think a little extra about the big stuff
It is usually the electric car, heat pump and washer/dryer that have the most impact. If you spread these out over the day, you have already come a long way.
We know that electricity network charges can be complicated, so we want to be clear about what is changing and why.
Partille Energi has had an impact fee since 2014. What is changing now is how the model is designed and how the fee is calculated.
