More and more people are now choosing to drive electric cars over diesel or petrol cars, and the transformation of the transport sector is happening rapidly. This also places demands on the ability to charge their cars.
Partille Energi wants to make it easier for those of you who have or are thinking about getting an electric car. That's why we have built a number of public charging points in Partille. Here you will also find tips and advice if you are going to charge at home in your villa or if your housing association wants to install electric car charging.
An environmental benefit of an electric car, compared to a petrol or diesel car, is that it emits much less carbon dioxide while you drive. If you also charge with renewable electricity, emissions will be even lower. Another benefit for the environment is that electric cars are generally quieter than regular cars. This contributes to reduced traffic noise, especially in urban areas.
An electric car is more expensive to purchase compared to traditional cars but has lower taxes.
How much it costs to charge your electric car depends on whether you charge at home with a charging box, which is usually the cheapest option, or at a public charging station.
In a home environment, you can expect it to cost about 1,50-2 SEK/kWh to charge the car, which gives a cost per mile of about three to four SEK.
The price for charging at public charging stations varies greatly. A normal price can be 3-6 SEK/kWh, which gives a mileage cost of approximately six to twelve SEK. Keep in mind that some stations may have additional parking fees.
When choosing a charging box, it is good to consider that: Partille Energi has a power fee in the electricity grid tariff. You can keep your power fee down if you choose to charge for more hours with a charging box with low power compared to charging for a short time with high power.
On "The electricity grid side" you can read more about how the power tariff works.
An important task for us as an energy company in Partille is to work proactively to facilitate the transition to a fossil-free vehicle fleet. We do this by, as here together with our sister company, building electric car charging stations ourselves, but also by ensuring that other actors can build charging stations for both public transport and private vehicles.

It may be tempting to charge your electric car using a regular electrical outlet at home. However, doing so can be a fire hazard, takes longer and is not economical. We recommend that you install a charger that is suitable for electric car charging with the help of a qualified electrician.
A charging box can give you the ability to control your usage to keep electricity costs down. Partille EnergiThe electricity grid tariff has both a power component and an energy component. To keep the maximum power output down, it is a good idea to plan your electric car charging so that it is done when you and your family do not use as many other electrical products. This can often be at night.
Tips for keeping the power consumption down when charging are that you can choose a charger with load balancing, set the maximum power in the car to charge with, or control charging at certain times of the day.
You can get a tax reduction of 50 percent of the cost of labor and materials when installing so-called green technology, which includes electric car charging. The new rules apply to installations that begin and are paid for from January 1, 2021.
Many housing associations are considering installing charging points. It may be tempting to use engine heater sockets for electric car charging, but we would advise against this as the components and cables are not designed for several hours of charging and the heat generation that can occur.
Consider how many charging sockets you plan to install and what power is suitable. Chargers with a power of 3,7 kW are sufficient for most people's needs when the car is parked at home, which it usually does for a large part of the day. But it is of course possible to choose chargers with a higher power. Also consider where the chargers will be placed. Indoor locations close to each other make installation easier and cheaper than outdoor locations on poles.
It is important to check with Partille Energi that there is sufficient spare power in the property and in the area. Partille EnergiThe electricity grid tariff has both a power component and an energy component. Therefore, it is a good idea to choose a charger with load balancing to keep the maximum power consumption of the subscription down.
What is needed is the provision of electricity and the installation of a charging box. The work must be carried out by a certified electrical installer who must submit a pre-registration to Partille Energi via foranmalan.nu before the work starts and then a completion report when the work is complete.

A charging box costs between 12 and 000 SEK for equipment and installation. A charging post costs between 20 and 000 SEK for equipment and installation. The association's electricity supplier may have offers with charging solutions that also include materials and installation, but you can also choose to buy boxes or charging posts directly from the supplier.
One tip is to think extra about which charging operator offers the best solution for the association's needs for, for example, management, administration and payment.
The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency offers grants for charging boxes and installation. The grant is given as a one-off amount where you can get back 50% of the costs, but a maximum of SEK 15 per charging point, for charging boxes and installation.
